2. The illusion of 'I'"I" is an illusion. To be more precise, the "thinking me" is just a delusion. We believe that we think freely. We believe that we live our lives by proactively and ambitiously 'thinking.' It seems as though we have the reins of life. From this perspective, what thoughts you have and how you act every moment are entirely up to you. However, this is a blatant illusion. Thoughts merely 'appear' in our minds.

3. Fighting Thoughts leads to DefeatMany people unknowingly wage a ceaseless battle against their thoughts, especially negative thoughts. Such battles are often doomed to failure. Yet, many people, unaware of this fact, walk down a path that is destined to fail. One in three people will encounter significant mental health issues in their lifetime. One in five Americans take antidepressants. Can you imagine how many people are embarking on a futile battle? The battles they wage manifest in three primary ways.

4. Thoughts can be 'Selected'The notion that 'I' is an illusion, and the attempts to fight against thoughts always culminate in failure, can leave us feeling hopeless. If thoughts are not fabricated by our will, and we are told not to fight the negative thoughts that emerge within different situations, then what exactly are we supposed to do? Should we just accept as they arise? Does this mean that life is inherently difficult, so we should just resign and bear it?
